Add Wow!
Make your site
'interesting' and you're likely to get site visitors telling their
friends (think YouTube). Well, there are many online tools available
to let you do that. Just be creative, imaginative and unique
Add "Wow!"
To Create A Buzz!
Why is any
site special?
- Is it because
the site is unique? Is it because the site offers a great product
or service? Is it because the site simply loads quickly, has up-to-date
and well-written
content, and is easy to use?
- Is the site
special simply because of the other people that visit it? (I'm
thinking myspace.com! ;-))
- Or is the
site so useful, or so much fun, that people simply cannot stop
talking about it, cannot stop revisiting it?
You guessed
it, it's some or all of the above (and more!).
Making any
website a "wow!" takes time, and there really are no quick-fix
solutions. It is possible, however, to make your site special -
a site that visitors bookmark without asking; they subscribe to
your newsletter; they willingly tell ALL of their friends about.
=> USE
THIS RESOURCE
Use your
brain. It is unique, after all.
Your brain
is *the* single best resource you have when trying to create a website
with "wow!"-appeal. It is vital you use your brain to
be creative, to be inventive, to be original.
You don't have
to come up with a completely original idea, necessarily. Maybe you
could combine some unoriginal ideas in an original way. Or - even
better - maybe you could 'add your voice' to the content that you
create. (You are unique, after all.)
I mean, just
how interested is anyone going to be in yet another version of (the
brilliantly simple) https://HotOrNot.com or Million Dollar Home Page?
So, to get
your creative juices flowing, take a look at the following websites.
(I visit these sites on a regular basis, you might too!) Find out
what you like (and what you dislike) about these sites?
And then see
what you can borrow. (Note: I don't mean copy!)
- Site: https://www.amazon.com
Reason: Personalisation, product choice and recommendations
- Site: https://www.google.com
Reason: The best at what it does. Not just search
- Site: https://www.mail2web.com
Reason: Access to pop3 email accounts. Simple, but effective
- Site: https://www.steves-digicams.com
Reason: So much useful content about digital cameras etc.
- Site: https://www.sitepoint.com
Reason: Professional web developer resource
- Site: https://www.textmefree.com
Reason: Freebie guide to sending free text messages. (Ahem!)
- Site: https://www.amazon.co.uk
Reason: See how the UK version differs from Amazon.com

If you have yet to build your website, then can I politely recommend
that you take a look at an all-in-one suite of tools that goes by

into a profitable website. It allows you to build (and promote)

== Aside ==
Yes, one of
the sites listed above is mine. I built it quite quickly
a few years ago, simply because I was looking for such a site. The
content was easy to find, I just had to reorganise it so that it
was helpful to site visitors.
So ask yourself
what value can you add to already existing content. What content
are you looking for, but can't find? Etc.
The strategy
works. My site, TextMeFree.com, gets a thousand+ unique visitors
per day.
The point I'm
trying to make is that anyone can build a site with "wow!"-appeal,
anyone that uses their brain, and is creative and original!
